Meditation is a process and it is easy to forget how challenging meditation can be. That is only if you do the work and let it come into you. I could sit in silence for 5 minutes every day with the wrong mindset or not really allowing myself that time to rest, but then I am not reaping the rewards of that time spent. What makes meditation so difficult is trying to do it with an intention. When you have a goal (even if the goal is to breathe for 5 minutes), you are going to be much more in tune with yourself during that time. I found that when I first began meditating, it was very difficult because I thought I was “doing it wrong.” We shall approach that in just a minute… So to combat this, I found guided meditations to help me really center my focus. Over time, it got a little easier, and when I veered away from guided meditations and just sat with myself, I realized that you can’t “do it wrong.” Meditation is guided by you for you, although it doesn’t have to be. For meditation to be “good,” you just need to get something out of it for yourself. Everybody needs something different. Even one person needs something different from one day to another day. One day, I was sitting and thinking about myself and my goals. Another day, it was all I could do to simply sit still, and a guided meditation helped. Another day I found myself contemplating relationships in my life. I’ve also spent one day of meditation completely blank. Sometimes I needed to let my brain and or body rest, and other days, I needed to refocus myself. I found that I was able to maintain better focus on my other tasks throughout the day when I meditated. When I gave myself the attention I needed in the morning, I didn’t spend the rest of the day trying to do that with no success, instead, I had the mental freedom to really focus on the things I needed to. I found that my stress if only relieved a little bit helped me quite a bit in other aspects. Releasing stress from my body, focusing my mind, and giving myself more attention has so far done wonders for my days. All this and more, I have learned. All this and much more, I hope to continue learning.

I recommend trying it at least once, usually that is not enough, however, as it takes much practice and time to really reap the rewards of your time. As I mentioned earlier, it is a difficult thing to really get into, but once you do, it will be much worth it! If you are at all like me, struggling to figure "it" out, struggling to balance all that you have going on in the world and in your head, just give it a shot. If it helps, wonderful! If it works only temporarily, great, keep searching and trying new methods. If it doesn't work for you at all, don't give up! We're all just trying to figure out our shit.
